M.A.C. Viva Glam 2012

Loving M.A.C.'s latest Viva Glam ad campaign. The company has done a tremendous job of raising money and awareness for HIV/AIDS awareness. Every cent of the sale from their Viva Glam products go towards helping men, women, and children living with and affected by HIV/AIDS.

The campaign has had some pretty glam spokesmodels in the past including Lady Gaga, Cyndi Lauper, Fergie, RuPaul, Lil' Kim, Mary J. Blige, and Pamela Anderson. The ads have always been fierce (there really isn't any better way to put it) and I always look forward to seeing who M.A.C. will unveil as their latest spokesperson/people.

This year M.A.C. tapped rap/pop princess Nicki Minaj and pop superstar Ricky Martin.

Nicki Minaj has given us two hugely memorable performances in the past month. She performed with Madonna and MIA at the Super Bowl Halftime show and gave a bizarre satanic-inspired performance at this year's Grammy Awards. The girl loves to shock us with her outrageous outfits, hair and makeup, and performances and fans can't get enough of her playful persona.

Ricky Martin was one of the most successful pop stars around a decade ago with his hip swinging, leather pant wearing dance moves and catchy tunes. He then dropped out of the spotlight for several years, but recently fell back in after publicly acknowledging his homosexuality and coming out with a new album and autobiography. He remains a pop icon and has done more for leather pants than anyone ever could.

This year Viva Glam is out with a gorgeous (yellow-based) pink lipstick on behalf of Nicki Minaj ($14.50) and a clear lip conditioner on behalf of Ricky Martin ($15.00).

Check out the amazing ad photographed by David La Chapelle, a frequent Viva Glam collaborator and equally known for his bright, sexy, pop art-style photos.
